Presence Takes Preparation

Getting ready takes longer than most people expect. I start with make-up, which already shifts something in my mindset. Each step adds definition. By the time I finish, my face feels as deliberate as my posture.

The hood comes next. Pulling it into place over my head changes the atmosphere immediately. The world becomes slightly quieter. Sound softens. My focus narrows. Everything outside the apartment loses relevance.

The white collar goes on last. It frames the neckline cleanly and completes the look in a way that feels intentional. The contrast between white and black is sharp and precise. It adds a formality to the outfit that the catsuit alone does not carry.

Then I walk. My white ballet wedges change the way I carry myself. My posture adjusts automatically. My spine lengthens, my shoulders settle, my steps become more considered. The apartment becomes a different kind of space when I move through it like this.

There is no destination. The ritual is entirely for me. But there is still a performance quality to it, a quiet awareness of shape and presence. Some outfits you put on. This one you step into.
